Parson Located south of Golden, the small community of Parson is found by way of Highway 95. The name was taken from the H.G. Parson family who came to the district in the late 1880s. The community's legacy is closely linked with the local mining and logging industries. |

Donald 17 km (10.5 mi) north of Golden on Highway 1, the small community of Donald remains the historic site where the first crossing of the Columbia River occurred. Originally established in the 1880s as the Divisional Headquarters for CPR, the town was nearly deserted when CPR later moved it to Revelstoke in 1896. |
